About the Firm

For more than thirty years, the Law Offices of Nancy J. Budd has provided professional, client-centered legal services for a reasonable fee to businesses, non-profits and individuals on Kaua`i, throughout the State of Hawai`i and beyond. Our firm is committed to helping our clients make smart legal decisions about their future.

Every client comes with a unique set of needs and we recognize that each client’s legal challenges require individual solutions. We strive to keep our clients involved in each step of the process and our legal solutions are tailored to fit our clients’ specific needs and objectives. Simply said, we want what is best for our clients.

Ms. Budd earned her Juris Doctor from the University of California at Davis and has spent her legal career on Kaua`i. She has three decades of experience in estate planning, real estate and business law. Ms. Budd is a regular speaker on the topics of business, estate planning, charitable planning and elder law.

Ms. Budd serves on numerous charitable and civic boards and foundations, including the Hawai`i Justice Foundation, Hawaii Public Radio Community Advisory Board (currently Chair), Kauai Leadership Council, Keiki to Career, and Hale `Opio Kaua`i Community Advisory Committee. She has served for many years as a judge for the Fifth Circuit Court Teen Court Program and as an Arbitrator for the Court Annexed Arbitration Program.

In 2011, Ms. Budd was appointed by the Governor to the Hawai`i State Board of Education and in 2008 she was appointed by the Hawai`i State Senate to the Koke`e State Park Advisory Council. She was recently appointed by the Chief Justice of the Hawaii Supreme Court to the Civil Justice Improvements Task Force.

Ms. Budd was recently awarded the Spirit of Justice Award by the Hawaii Justice Foundation, the Marilyn Lee Community Leadership Award and was named Philanthropic Advisor of the Year by the Hawaii Community Foundation.

Senior Legal Assistant: Elizabeth Ululani Perreira

Elizabeth Ululani PerreiraElizabeth Ululani Perreira is our senior legal assistant and office administrator. She has worked with the Law Offices of Nancy J. Budd for over 20 years and brings a high level of expertise and personal attention to all aspects of our practice.

Ulu is a graduate of Kamehameha Schools and furthered her education at the University of Hawaii, studying architecture, before joining our firm. Ulu serves the Kaua`i community in innumerable ways, including service on the FEMA allocations committee of the Kauai United Way, Kauai District Chair of the Boy Scouts, and founding member of Kauai Community: One Voice for Koke`e.
